Reducing our impact on the planet whilst producing nutritious eggs from healthy and happy chickens.
Welfare
The welfare of the birds is out biggest priority. Healthy hens with good feather cover, lay quality eggs with low antibiotic and chemical use. We use high welfare perching to reduce injurious landings and exceed all RSPCA requirements for nest space, feed lines and drinker lines.
Environment
We have planted 3.5km of new Hedgerows and over 40,000 new trees. Sally farm has developed our own tree nursery to provide new trees across the farm.
We utilise heat exchange technology and a Ground Source Heat Pump whilst promoting a low carbon policy for the running of the poultry farm.
Research Centre
Due to our intelligent “H shape” design we have four identical poultry houses which allows us to conduct controlled trials on a large scale.
Visitor Centre
Our conference room is fitted with viewing windows, this allows visitors to see inside the poultry house, minimising the bio-security risk.
Educate others
Our aim is to educate the next generation of young farmers, teaching them sustainable and efficient ways to manage and produce Free Range eggs.
